Position Overview
This position is essential to the success of EMOW as it assists with strategizing and executing fundraising and donor engagement plans to achieve defined goals. This position is under the supervision of the Fund Development & Community Engagement Manager.
Are you an organized, results driven person with a creative side? As EMOW’s Fundraising Coordinator, you will enjoy building relationships with a diverse mix of individuals. By combining your creativity, curiosity and enthusiasm, you will implement a variety of fundraising initiatives. This involves researching trends and best practices, creating effective new strategies, coordinating events, and engaging with new and existing supporters. You will craft engaging fundraising appeals that inspire action, consistently executing and evaluating fundraising activities
Position Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain a knowledgeable understanding of the operations, philosophy, goals and objectives of EMOW in order to promote a positive image of EMOW to staff, volunteers, clients, stakeholders and the public.
- Be the first point of contact for incoming donor phone calls, letters and email correspondence, ensuring timely responses to all donor inquiries.
- Cultivate new donor relationships and maintain authentic connections with existing partners.
- Develop, implement and evaluate third party fundraising and sponsorship activities.
- Create and track templates and tools for fundraising .
- Coordinate the planning, execution and follow-up of special events.
- Explore creative fundraising streams and ways to engage with and acknowledge donor support.
- Coordinate fundraising initiatives including direct mail, raffles, online appeals, etc. and track metrics/outcomes.
- Ensure timely completion of administrative tasks ie. Entering gifts and completing receipting in DonorPerfect.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary diploma or certificate in communications, public relations or related discipline.
- 1-3 years direct experience in fundraising or a related field within the nonprofit sector.
- Demonstrated experience planning and preparing digital and print materials.
- Experience planning and executing events.
- Equivalencies may be considered.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, DonorPerfect, Constant Contact, Canva.
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and meet tight timelines.
- Takes initiative on projects, planning and regular daily tasks.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed to support events and donor engagements.
- A clean vulnerable sector check.
- Driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract. Use of own vehicle for work purposes is required.
Salary & Benefits
- $804.60 to $1,015.33 semi-monthly based on experience and 0.5 FTE (37.5 hours).
- Three weeks of vacation to start.
